  12. SkyTrak HomeBay Golf Simulator Package

1. SkyTrak SwingBay Golf Simulator Package

SkyTrak SwingBay Golf Simulator Setup 2

This new simulator package, put together by Rain or Shine Golf, offers one of the best balances between affordability, quality and performance that we’ve ever seen.

It’s ideal for those who want to spend four figures or less, who want the best value for the money, and who have enough space to accommodate a slightly larger setup.

When golfers look into full-priced golf simulators, many get overwhelmed with learning how everything works and how to set everything up. This simulator package was designed specifically for that.

With this simulator setup, you can count on being able to dial in your swing and take your game to the next level.

What Is Included

The SwingBay package consists of the SkyTrak Launch Monitor and a high-quality SwingBay simulator screen and enclosure (designed by Rain or Shine Golf) that are easy to assemble.

Also included are your choice of a hitting mat, an Optoma 1080p projector with ceiling mount, side barrier netting, and a few other useful items.

As with other SkyTrak simulator packages, this package includes a 1-year subscription to the SkyTrak Game Improvement Plan, which is a major step up from the starter (free) plan.

Minimum room dimensions of 9 ft high x 12 ft wide x 16 ft deep are recommended. Get your longest club out (usually driver) and make a backswing to ensure you have enough clearance.

The included SwingTurf hitting mat (5’x4′) was designed by Rain or Shine Golf to provide an optimal balance between realistic fairway feel and forgiveness. An upgrade to a larger 9’x4′ SwingTurf mat is available.

We love this simulator package because it’s very well-made, suitable for personal and commercial use, and uses the SkyTrak, which not only is the most software-compatible simulator system out there, but also offers incredible value for the cost.

2. Uneekor QED SwingBay Simulator Package

Uneekor QED Golf Simulator Setup 2

The Uneekor QED is a relatively new simulator technology to hit the market, and the reception it has gotten from golfers is quite amazing. It is considered a step above SkyTrak and nearly on par with top professional simulators like the GC2 and even TrackMan.

We rank the QED high on our list because it’s affordable given its power and accuracy, it comes with some of the best simulator software on the market, and, unlike many other simulators, it handles putting extremely well.

The QED simulator system delivers high precision on shots from 10 cm to 435 yards. The included software, QED Ignite, allows you to play various game modes, practice modes, and skills challenges.

Featuring Rain Or Shine Golf’s unique SwingBay screen & enclosure, the Uneekor QED simulator package gives you everything you need to enjoy the ultimate golf simulator studio.

What Is Included

First, we have what makes up the studio: the SwingBay simulator screen & enclosure, Optoma 1080p Short Throw Projector, ceiling projector mount, side barrier netting, and SwingTurf hitting mat.

The simulator technology itself is contained in the QED bar, which can be mounted on the ceiling. It houses two high-speed cameras that can record at over 3000 fps, providing real-time club and ball data.

Next is the software, QED Ignite. It features a photographic video playback technology called QED OPTIX, a 3D driving range, fitting data, and a swing motion analysis tool.

Upgrades are available that allow to you access additional features within the Ignite software. In addition, the QED simulator is compatible with The Golf Club and E6 CONNECT.

Minimum room dimensions of 9 ft high x 12 ft wide x 15 ft deep are required.

The Uneekor QED is an impressive simulator that provides one of the best performance-to-cost ratios we’ve seen. Even if you don’t want to pay extra for separate software, the default Ignite software is rock solid and will allow you to get the practice and entertainment you expect out of a premium simulator package.

3. FlightScope Mevo Plus SimBay Golf Simulator Package

FlightScope Mevo Plus SimBay Golf Simulator Package

Note: We used to feature an OptiShot Golf-In-Box 3 package in this spot, but we didn’t feel it was popular enough among golfers to justify keeping it up.

Maybe you want a full-fledged simulator setup, but you’re on a budget and don’t want to pay more than a few thousand dollars for it. If that’s the case, then the Mevo+ SimBay Golf Simulator Package is ideal.

This simulator package was put together by Top Shelf Golf and is one of the cheapest full simulator setups (with screen, enclosure, projector, and a quality launch monitor) on the market.

If you’re content with seeing your simulation on a mobile device or PC, you can leave out the projector when ordering this package and save an additional $1000+.

What Is Included

The Mevo+ SimBay Simulator uses the Mevo+ launch monitor, which is comparable to the SkyTrak but is much newer and is better for outdoor use. Also included in the base package is:

  • a trimmed version of E6 CONNECT for iOS
  • a SimBay Golf Simulator Enclosure
  • a Sim Master 5’x5′ Premium Hitting Mat

The SimBay enclosure has a unique one-piece design that makes it all but impossible for errant shots to burst through the enclosure and cause damage.

There are many optional upgrades available with this package:

  1. You can choose a larger frame size for the enclosure (10’x10’x10′ or 13’x10’x10′).
  2. You can replace the Sim Master hitting mat with a 7’x4′ or 9’x4′ Fiberbuilt hitting mat.
  3. You can choose one of three Optoma projectors.
  4. You can add a projector floor mount enclosure.
  5. You can purchase expanded TGC or E6 CONNECT software packages.

The Mevo+ SimBay Package offers a lot of flexibility for golfers to find the setup that works best for them and that also meets their budget.

Minimum space dimensions of 12 ft wide x 9 ft high x 16 ft deep are required. In this case, the Mevo+ unit requires a lot of space in front and behind in order to produce the most accurate readings.

Top Shelf Golf is a company that we only started recommending for golf simulation products recently, but they have a proven track record with many happy customers. They provide a ton of detail about every aspect of this simulator package here.

4. SkyTrak SIG10 Golf Simulator Package

SkyTrak SIG10 Golf Simulator Setup New

If you’re looking to explore other package options with the SkyTrak, we highly recommend considering the SIG10. It’s similar to the SkyTrak SwingBay package reviewed above, but with two key differences:

  • it uses the Panasonic PT-VZ580U projector
  • landing pad turf is included

This full-screen SkyTrak simulator package was put together by Shop Indoor Golf, our other top recommended source for golf simulator products. In fact, the SkyTrak SIG10 package is their most successful product.

At the time of writing, the simulator even comes with a free bonus 12-month subscription to Golf Magazine.

What Is Included

The SIG10 package consists of the SkyTrak Launch Monitor and a high-quality SIG10 simulator screen and enclosure (designed by Shop Indoor Golf) that is handcrafted in the USA.

Also included are:

  • your choice of a hitting mat (5’x5′, 4’x7′ or 4’x10′)
  • a Panasonic PT-VZ580U projector (WUXGA resolution)
  • a ceiling projector mount
  • landing pad turf
  • side barrier netting

Another nice bonus is that it includes a subscription to the SkyTrak Play & Improve Plan. This is the highest level plan offered, and it allows you to play 12 world-class WGT (World Golf Tour) golf courses in addition to having all other SkyTrak software features.

The choices for hitting mat are the Fairway Series 5’x5′ (provides realistic feel), SIGPRO 4’x7′ (easy on the joints, allows level unit placement), and SIGPRO 4’x10′ (center hitting strip ideal for left/right hand switching).

You can also install SIG10 Simulator Flooring: a full flooring option that consists of a hitting strip surrounded by a putting green. This is an awesome choice but is pretty expensive.

Room dimensions of 9 ft high x 12 ft wide x 18 ft deep are recommended.

We love this simulator package because the studio is well-made with great aesthetics, and it comes with several perks that you can’t find with other sim packages at this price point.

5. TruGolf Vista 10 Golf Simulator

TruGolf Vista 10 Golf Simulator - Base Setup

Perhaps you don’t want a SkyTrak or Mevo+ simulator, but you don’t want to pay $18,000+ for a system either.

  • a 1-year subscription to E6 CONNECT, which is a top-tier simulation software that allows you to practice, play with friends, and compete with golfers around the world
  • a 1-year limited warranty

The Vista 10 is offered in Base and Pro versions. The Base version includes the above items, while the Pro version includes a Level 2 Computer, portable speaker, component rack, protective side nets, and a frame storage duffel bag.

The minimum space requirements are 10 ft high x 15 ft wide x 20 ft deep.

The tracking system, in particular, is a unique system built by TruGolf. For more details about what comes with the simulator, specifications, etc, visit this page.

6. FlightScope Mevo Plus Training Package

FlightScope Mevo Plus Training Simulator Package

This is an immensely useful simulator package for training & practice that is being offered by Shop Indoor Golf.

Not only is it very affordable because it doesn’t include a screen or projector, but it also uses the Mevo+ launch monitor, which is comparable to the SkyTrak but is better for outdoor use. The Mevo+ is also ideal for use with iPads & tablets.

Even though no screen is included, you can still view the precise Mevo+ shot simulation and data on an iOS smartphone or tablet.

The Mevo+ Training package comes with a net & mat that can be set up within 30 minutes, wherever you have the space.

The particular net included is considered one of the best on the market, mainly because it has the ability to return balls back to your feet and can withstand ball speeds of up to 225 mph (good luck reaching that speed!).

What Is Included

This package consists of the Mevo+ Launch Monitor and a trimmed iOS version of E6 CONNECT that features practice ranges, a darts mini-game, and five golf courses. Also included is (not limited to):

  • The Net Return Home/Pro Series V2 Golf Net (your choice)
  • The Net Return Pro Turf Golf Mat (6 ft x 10 ft)
  • The Net Return side barrier netting

The Mevo+ can also be used with the free FS Golf app, giving you real-time performance data, saving of sessions, skills challenges, and more. Access to The Golf Club and Creative Golf 3D on PC is available at extra cost.

Minimum space dimensions of 10 ft wide x 8.5 ft high x 15 ft deep are recommended. Even without a screen and projector, you can achieve a similar feel by connecting to a TV through HDMI and positioning it behind the net.

Although the Mevo+ costs roughly the same as the SkyTrak, many customers feel that the Mevo+ is a little bit better, partly because it uses radar technology.

8. Full Swing Pro Series Golf Simulator

Full Swing Pro Series Golf Simulator with Tiger Woods

Have you ever wondered what simulator Tiger Woods uses in his home? It’s the Full Swing Pro Series. Woods credits this simulator for getting him back into championship form after his surgeries and physical issues.

Many people consider the Pro Series, which is Full Swing’s flagship golf simulator, the best of the best. It is also being used by other top pros like Jon Rahm and Gary Woodland.

It’s currently the only simulator that combines high-speed cameras with infrared lightwave technology to show your true ball flight with no shot delay.

How It Works

The Pro Series Simulator uses high-speed Ion3 cameras with overhead tracking, and provides very precise infrared accuracy. Club and ball activity at impact is captured reliably, with the ability for playback in HD.

Unique to the Pro Series is infrared light wave technology, which is the fastest and most accurate on the market. It uses 688 infrared sensors across two tracks to measure the ball mid-flight at the speed of light.

The end result is that there is no delay in transition between the ball flight in the simulation and in the real world. This provides the most realistic simulator experience currently available.

Data points such as ball speed, launch angle, carry, ball direction, backspin, and smash factor are all precisely measured.

What Is Included

The Full Swing Pro Series Simulator comes with:

Perhaps you don’t mind spending tens of thousands of dollars on a golf simulator, but none of the other brands on this page interest you for whatever reason. In that case, check out GOLFZON VISION.

GOLFZON VISION is a simulator system that is recommended by many of the biggest simulator shops in the country, and, since 2017, has been recommended by Golf Digest.

The simulator screen is approximately 4 meters wide by 3.2 meters high. A very bright projector, touch screen kiosk, pedal buttons, membership card and card reader, grass mat and auto tee-up make the VISION Standard one of the best simulator experiences currently available.

10. Tittle X Golf Simulator E6 CONNECT Edition

Tittle X 2021 E6 CONNECT Golf Simulator

Don’t want to pay more than a couple hundred dollars for a simulator system? On a very low budget? Your best bet is probably the Tittle X.

It’s an excellent alternative to the OptiShot that most people feel has better accuracy and is more geared towards game improvement.

The Tittle X takes features of simulator equipment worth thousands of dollars and miniaturizes them into a 7.9g device. The latest version uses the E6 CONNECT simulator software by TruGolf, which is one of the best available.

The Tittle X isn’t designed to use any balls and it comes with a toy stick for swinging, although you can swing your own clubs if you want.

This golf simulator is child and beginner friendly. We recommend it for recreational golfers.

Note: We previously featured the Rapsodo R-Motion system on our list, but we bumped it off because it has been discontinued. Tittle X, in contrast, has made an effort to keep their own system up-to-date and improve their software.

How It Works

To use the Tittle X golf simulator, you need to mount the Tittle X device (included) onto your own club or the included swing stick.

Setup involves quite a few steps, but fortunately, Tittle X provides a detailed guide to walk you through the process. You need to:

  2. Install the software on your PC.
  3. Prepare the device.
  4. Establish some connections.
  5. Start playing by waiting for vibrations from the device.

With the E6 CONNECT software integration, you can play 3D-rendered real-world golf courses, practice on the range, and play rounds.

For a complete picture of how to set up the Tittle X and what you can do with the E6 CONNECT software, refer to the user manual.

Not only is the Tittle X impressively accurate given its cost, but it also delivers great entertainment thanks to the ultra-realistic (4K) graphics. See what people are saying about it here.

Buying Guide

A golf simulator can be a huge investment. Because of this, it’s important to consider all the factors that will affect your experience and match it with what your goals are.

Here are the most important factors you need to consider when figuring out what golf simulator will best meet your needs:

1. Size

White Measuring Tape

Size is a very important factor in golf simulators.

Generally speaking, the more expensive the simulator, the larger the footprint the studio will take up. A full screen, enclosure and turf will likely require the most space, while a practice net will require less space.

In any case, you need enough space for the simulator setup and to swing your longest club (driver) unimpeded.

You need to measure the width, length and height of your space and compare it to the minimum space requirements of every golf simulator you look at.

The average space requirements for full golf simulator setups tend to be roughly 10 feet in all directions, although launch monitors like the Mevo+ need more depth. Whether you want to use your simulator outdoors or indoors, your space should be able to easily accommodate this.

2. Portability

Figure pushing a cog

Another thing to consider is ease of transport. In general, more expensive simulators are less portable, although there are exceptions.

If you don’t have at least a net or mat, mobility is not an issue at all. Net setups are usually easy to set up, take down and transport. Screen and projector setups are usually less portable, but they can still be moved around.

The GC2 Retractable simulator package above, for example, comes with a screen and enclosure that can be easily retracted at the press of a button, making it ideal for garages and basements.

Do you plan to have a dedicated place where your golf simulator will always be located, or will there be times when you need to move it?

Maybe you travel periodically and want to be able to easily take it with you. Maybe you just want to pack it away during the summer, when weather permits getting out to the driving range or golf course.

If you plan to move your simulator around often, you may not want a full simulator setup with screen and projector unless it’s marketed as retractable. If you’re planning to invest in a net only, then make sure that transporting it is straightforward.

3. Tracking

OptiShot Swing Pad

Consider the tracking system that measures your ball and club data. Is it the SkyTrak, TruTrack, Uneekor QED, GC2, or something else?

Of course, some tracking systems are better than others, which is where much of the price difference comes from. Some tracking systems have better accuracy, better reliability, and less lag between the ball hitting the screen and the ball flight displaying.

For example, while the Tittle X is very inexpensive, its sensor is never going to be as accurate or produce as many detailed data parameters as photometric camera or radar systems.

The SkyTrak is excellent in comparison, but many people don’t like its shot delay, which can be up to a few seconds long.

Generally (but not always), the more expensive the simulator, the better the tracking system. Look into the performance of each and decide how you weigh the importance of entertainment vs. game improvement.

4. Software

You should also consider what kinds of things you want to do, games you want to play, and activities you want to take part in on your golf simulator.

Different simulator systems will support different software. For example, SkyTrak has software in three membership levels:

  • Basic Plan: gives you a practice driving range.
  • Game-Improvement Plan: gives you minigames, numeric display, and many other advanced features.
  • Play & Improve Plan: gives you all features of other plans plus full integration with WGT (World Golf Tour).

OptiShot 2, which is considered a “tight-budget” solution, has exclusive software that allows you to practice and play multiple different game types including stroke play, better ball, alternate shot, and match play.

Uneekor offers its own in-house software in three tiers: Ignite, Refine and Succeed. This is impressive (perhaps not as well-known) software that has a 3D driving range, various practice modes, course modes, game modes, and more.

The Golf Club Simulator Logo

The Golf Club has 4K resolution support and offers a ton of golf courses, live tours and tournaments, and a tool that allows you to build your own golf courses.

E6 Golf Logo

E6 CONNECT is another quality software option that is highly customizable. It offers various course simulations, minigames, training aids, tournaments, and more.

Other software possibilities include FSX, ProTee Golf 2.0, Creative Golf 3D, Fitness Golf, and Jack Nicklaus Perfect Golf.

What software features do you see yourself using most often? Do you just want to practice on the range, play world-class courses, or both? Consider what software options are available when looking at simulators, and make your decisions accordingly.

5. Budget

Money bag

This may be the last entry in the buying guide, but it’s one of the most important.

Not everyone can afford golf simulator packages that cost $10,000+, and fortunately, there are options that cost well below this amount.

With that said, it’s important to realize that the less you spend, the less you’ll usually get, both in terms of hardware and software.

In this guide, we’ve tried to include quality golf simulators over a wide range of budgets that golfers might have. But the great thing is that you don’t have to drop the full cost of a simulator at once.

Our recommended golf simulator source here provides easy financing options that allow you to pay for your golf simulator over the course of a year or longer. Don’t forget about this option.

Conclusion

Whether you’re looking to improve your game, have fun with friends, or grow a successful simulator business, a reliable golf simulator is a huge asset. Whatever the reason you want the best golf simulator, there are many quality options for you to consider.

If money isn’t an issue, look into top-of-the-line offerings like the Curve from aboutGOLF. If you do have a specific budget, there are many great simulator systems out there that can accommodate you like SkyTrak, Mevo+, Uneekor QED or TruGolf. There are even options for people who have budgets in the three figures.

Finding a simulator package that can meet your needs is certainly possible with some research. We’ve given you the information you need to make a decision; now it’s up to you to go the rest of the way.

While it’s likely that no golf simulator setup will tick every one of your boxes, some will come pretty close to doing so.

If possible, read consumer and professional reviews of golf simulators to acquire useful insights as to how they actually perform. This will help you a lot in the decision-making process.
