It’s an understatement to say that the British royal family knows the importance of a photo opp, and milestones are rarely left undocumented. But given how seriously the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge take their children’s privacy it only makes sense that when it comes to their kids, they like to control the narrative whenever possible.

And so, Kate, an amateur photographer, former art history student, and the patron of the Royal Photographic Society, is often credited with taking the portraits of her children that are released on birthdays, the first day of school, and other special occasions.

With that in mind, here are 30 adorable photos the Duchess has taken of her three children.

In honor of Prince George’s 8th birthday, the Duchess released this photo of you the young royal looking quite a bit like his father Prince William.


The Duchess of Cambridge shared this sweet photo of her only daughter ahead of Princess Charlotte’s 6th birthday in 2021.


Ahead of Prince Louis’s 3rd birthday, the Duchess of Cambridge released this sweet photo of Louis on a bike, shortly before the young royal left for his first day of nursery at the Willcocks Nursery School.


Kate photographed Prince George ahead of his 7th birthday. Details were slim about this photoshoot, but the youngster looked adorable in his camo-print shirt with a gap-toothed smile.


In honor of Princess Charlotte’s fifth birthday, Kate released new photos of her only daughter.


The pictures were taken in April 2020 on the Sandringham Estate, and they show Princess Charlotte volunteering during the coronavirus crisis.

The Duchess also captured this sweet moment of Princess Charlotte with her new little brother.


Kate also took a picture of Charlotte sitting on the steps, already wearing her backpack, ready to kick off the school year.


This picture of Princess Charlotte wearing a yellow lamb sweater was released to the public in honor of the little royal’s second birthday.


Kate clearly loves a backpack shot. Just as she did with Princess Charlotte, the Duchess of Cambridge photographed Prince George heading off to his first day of nursery school at Westacre Montessori.


For Princess Charlotte’s first birthday, the Duchess took a series of portraits of her second child around their family’s home, Anmer Hall.
